PhD students in the course "Food, Medicine and Philosophy in East and West". The PhD students are exposed to new ways of thinking about food, health and nature, and are encouraged to put their own research into a greater global perspective.

Work in the "Perinatal Unit" at the Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Weak newborn pigs are kept under highly controlled conditions and the results from clinical interventions are aimed to be used for farm animals as well as corresponding conditions in infants born too small or too early.

Caesarean section and fetal operations are performed in pigs and cattle as part of various experiments. The results are used to improve the understanding of fetal and neonatal survival.
